TRIFORCE® Open Joist introduces an innovative and user-friendly software for comprehensive engineering analysis, streamlining workflows from full-floor evaluations to accurate member sizing.
TRIFORCE® Analyzer goes beyond standard software, it’s an indispensable asset for designing open web floor joist systems with precision. Tailored to meet the demands of engineers, architects, and contractors, it ensures projects prioritize safety, efficiency, and accuracy.
Why Use TRIFORCE® Analyzer for Open Joist Floor Systems?
- Unmatched Accuracy and Reliability: Ensuring structural integrity starts with accurate calculations. TRIFORCE® Analyzer considers every load, material, and dimension involved in a floor system, reducing errors and helping you deliver consistent, reliable designs. This level of accuracy is essential to prevent costly adjustments later in the construction phase.
- Enhanced Time Efficiency: Traditional manual calculations for floor joist design are time-consuming and prone to human error. TRIFORCE® Analyzer automates complex calculations, allowing engineers and architects to complete designs faster. By accelerating the design process, you can allocate more time to other essential project areas without sacrificing quality.
- Efficient Material Management for Cost Savings: The software is designed to optimize material use by recommending the right joists and configurations based on your project’s specifications. This reduces waste and ensures that only the necessary materials are used, helping keep project costs within budget and minimizing environmental impact.
- Guaranteed Compliance with Building Standards: TRIFORCE® Analyzer is fully integrated with the latest building codes and industry standards in the U.S. and Canada. This guarantees that every floor joists design meets current regulatory requirements, avoiding costly revisions or potential compliance issues further down the line.
- Flexible and Adaptive for Custom Designs: Whether you’re working on a residential or commercial project, TRIFORCE® Analyzer adapts to various design configurations. Its versatility makes it possible to accommodate last-minute adjustments with ease. This adaptability allows you to deliver solutions that meet clients’ specific needs without compromising structural integrity.
In addition to being a useful tool, the Analyzer software is indispensable for ensuring safety, optimizing efficiency and maximizing profitability when sizing floor joists.
Discover More About our Software:
TRIFORCE® Analyzer is proprietary software created for the structural analysis and sizing of open web floor joist systems used in building construction across the U.S. and Canada, supporting both residential and commercial projects. This user-friendly program simplifies the process of identifying the ideal dimensions and specifications for individual joist members, ensuring they comply with safety and performance standards.
The software allows users to enter project parameters like load conditions and span lengths, and it automatically computes the necessary size and strength of the joists. Its intuitive interface makes it easy to use for engineers, architects, and contractors alike. The TRIFORCE® open joist span table can also help determine the required joists (depth, length and series) for standard projects.
Key features of TRIFORCE® Analyzer include real-time load analysis, building code compliance verification, and detailed reports that explain the rationale behind sizing decisions. The software also generates a summary report from the analysis of individual joists, detailing calculated factors such as:
- Unfactored reactions : The software calculates raw forces and moments for each joist, providing essential data for design safety.
- Bearing Capacity : Load-bearing capacity of the joist that must respect the loads they will encounter to guarantee the safety and stability of the entire structure
- Shear and bending values : The Analyzer calculates shear force and bending moments to understand how joists will perform under pressure.
- Stress and Deflection Calculations: The program provides insights into stress limits and potential deflection to improve structural integrity and user comfort.
Additionally, when necessary, the software conducts vibration calculations to ensure compliance with the Canadian Building Code.

Integrated Solution for TRIFORCE® Distributors and Dealers
In collaboration with Calculated Structured Designs, Inc. (CSD), now part of Simpson Strong-Tie, we also offer TRIFORCE® Distributors and Dealers a plug-in version of the Analyzer software. This version provides the same engineering analysis as the Stand-Alone version while also integrating TRIFORCE® open joist materials into CSD’s iStruct software suite. Specifically, isPlan allows users to model an entire structure with both 2D and 3D views, along with the capability to create floor joist layouts and framing plans that can be utilized on the jobsite. The plug-in version may require a separate licensing agreement, and additional fees may apply.
The TRIFORCE® open joist Analyzer software enhances efficiency by reducing manual calculations and minimizing errors, resulting in cost-effective designs and improved structural integrity. By simplifying the design process, this tool supports the creation of safe, sustainable building solutions.
